The Efficient way to accept Credit Cards when you use QuickBooks

o Intuit Merchant Services records can be downloaded into QuickBooks using a simple command: ‘Make Merchant Services Deposits’.

You’ll find this on the Banking drop-down menu. This records not only the deposit, but also the fees; saving data entry time and eliminating human error.

QuickBooks payments can now automatically match and record most of the merchant deposits and fees for you.

The screen will show three tabs: ‘Add payments to record’, ‘Recorded’ and ‘Pending for deposit’.  Don’t forget about ‘View and search transaction details’ at the bottom right of the screen.  You’ll need to explore this link if you want to reverse a transaction, charge a card, reverse a transaction, accept an e-check, void an e-check or need other processing tools.  It’s also incredibly helpful when searching for transaction information. This is also where you can setup and manage reoccurring payments, too.

Credit card services integration is critical, particularly when using QuickBooks POS (Point of Sale), but also very important when using any version of QuickBooks.  I have worked with clients using an outside processor for POS and it’s not a good idea.  It’s time consuming and unnecessarily cumbersome, providing a slower and less than ideal customer experience.  On the retailer end, it requires much more data entry.  If you use any form of QuickBooks and want to accept credit and debit cards, using Intuit Payments it’s a no-brainer.
